The Lovers

I worked hard on this lovers design. I was very excited about creating two figures that feel separate, yet the same. That middle arm is shared and it could belong to either figure.
The story in the image feels cyclical to me, looking at the outside world (blue figure, blue to also represent cups- my emotional friend) feels the love and joy from the outside world and brings it inward. For me, the bliss of the card is truly in the corresponding action (red figure, representing wands) of reflecting that inner joy outward again. And so it repeats and repeats, pulling the outward beauty inward, then pushing it outward again, allowing ourselves to be one with the beauty, love and joy we experience.
